East or West; Sachin is the best!

Yes, I mean it. He is the best! It is a treat to watch our little master at his best. His leg glance, straight drive, cover drive, late cut.. impeccable!

Remember how we won the sharjah cup, or how we reached the world cup 2003 finals, or many of the series that India won/ almost won.

And still he is great.. the India Pak series proves it...

This video of WC 2003 says it all...

Kudos Sachin :)

and thanks to arvind iyer and upright videos for the link!

Comments:
I don't consider him to be the best, but as one of the better batsmen the game has ever seen. Donald Bradman, Gary Sobers, Wally Hammond, Jack Hobbs, Rahul Dravid and Ken Barrington are the best to me. :-)

To the guy who commented above me :
Too much pseud puts da... Chill...

@ sreejith: There is not much to differentiate between these batsmen in terms of statistics (bradman is a different league altogether :)).. but i like the aggression of tendulkar as well.. and to name my best list, it includes Sachin, Sobers, Viv Richards,Kallis, Dravid and Shane Warne

@ dasan: personal opinion daa... take its and chill!

Can u send me the video????i tried sharing by clicking on the link but it is not working...My mail id is...naveentsnts@gmail.com....thanx

Kudos Sachin all right for he is a prodigy but for every Sachin to blossom, you need somebody like Dravid to play the role of sheet anchor. Many bowlers of the opposite teams seem to think that the entire Indian team bats around Dravid and strictly in that context, his wicket is as priced as Sachins.

Re: Dasan

'Pseud' in a sense that you haven't heard most of those names before, right?
Let me tell you, Jack Hobbs (has about 199 first class hundreds) went on to play even in his late fourties. He made about 99 first class centuries after he was 40. Those who know some cricket history would still consider his opening partnership with Herbert Sutcliffe the best the world has ever seen. Wally Hammond, Ken Barrington and Denis Compton were perhaps the only batsmen who denied Australia many Ashes wins. Read some cricket history when you get time and don't consider those who played better than Sachin to be inferior solely because of the absence of Videos.

Re: Caleb

It is all about personal perspectives. Even, people of this generation believe that Subhas Chandra Bose was a better politician than the current ones without seeing him in action. How come this is possible mate? You don't need to watch a batsman to know how he plays/played. There are authentic books on this. You will fall in love with their style. Also remember when 'they' were playing, there were no such minnows like Bangladesh or Zimbabwe playing test cricket. All the test teams were packed in with sheer talents. So, you should give them more marks.
Also, I haven;t said they are the best in any case. See my comment starting - "I don't consider....." It is a personal view point and take it just like that.
One more, people of all generations would agree that Bradman is the best. Have these people seen him batting? Even the available videos give a bad looking stance, poor camera angles and all. Still he is the best, isn't he?
About Hick, he has 128 first class hundreds but only 6 of them in 65 tests! His batting avge is 52 in first class, but only 31 in tests! Whereas for Jack Hobbs, 15 of those 199 first class hundreds came in his 61 test matches. He has an avge of 50 in first class and 57 in tests. How can you compare a dinosaur with a mosquito? Too poor.....
